RoHS BAN M.V. Lamps: (Effective 13th April 2015) All General purpose Lamps containing Mercury have now been banned from production under RoHS EU legislation controlling hazardous substances. The ban only affects production. It appears that it will still be legal to buy or sell remaining stocks of MV lamps until these stocks are exhausted, which means that most MV Lamps should still be available for the rest of 2015 at least. Obviously, stocks of the most popular lamps (eg: 125W ES MV) will probably become unobtainable first.  Also, lamps with special caps (such as 3-BC) will also become very difficult to obtain, as less of these exist in UK stocks.
