Philaethria species & sub-species (Colombia).
Pictures courtesy of Luis Miguel Constantino, Cali, Colombia. S.A. Luis writes:- "Here are some pictures for you to use about the immature stages of Philaethria dido chocoensis (Constantino & Salazar, 1999) from western Colombia feeding on Passiflora vitifolia in the Anchicayá river. Including the Pupae and the adult in natural setting from the Anchicaya river, Colombia (photos 1-4). P. dido chocoensis is simpatric with P. constantinoi (Salazar, 1991) in the Chocó rain forests of Western Colombia, whereas P. dido dido is simpatric with P. pygmalion in the eastern Colombia, particularly in the Amazon and Orinoco basin. Also there is a nice photograph of Philaethria dido dido (Photo 5) drinking water on a sandy beach at the Amazon river in PuertoNariño, Amazonas, Colombia. Also there are pictures of adults from my collection of Philaethria constantinoi, P. pygamlion, P. dido dido and P. dido chocoensis, all from Colombia. You only need Philaethria wernickey form Eastern Brazil to complete allthe Philaethrias species." [ Luis Miguel Constantino. Cali, Colombia. August 1999].
